South Africa aims to win London 7s

“We don’t want to focus on Fiji.”

These were the words of South Africa captain Philip Snyman as the race for the World Rugby Sevens series title nears.

Snyman says they have prepared well and the players will be gunning to put up a great show in the London tournament this weekend.

“Over the last couple of days we have worked extremely hard and we know what it’s going to take as we don’t want to focus on the end results, we don’t want to focus on Fiji, we just want to focus on ourselves. For me we need to do the basics well and we need to stick to our game plan.”

South Africa is pooled with Samoa, Canada and Russia.

Fiji currently leads on the series standings with 145 points, four ahead of South Africa.

They take on Argentina in its first pool match at 10.20pm on Saturday and will then battle against Scotland at 1.26am on Sunday before meeting New Zealand at 4.32am.
