Solid off-season for Fiji 7s

November 20, 2015 6:10 pm

The Vodafone Fiji 7s squad named yesterday for the opening leg of the World Sevens Series will be bigger and stronger than previous seasons.

National coach, Ben Ryan says the players have gone through a solid off-season program to bulk up for the road to the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, which begins with the Dubai 7s next month.

“The boys have been starting their training in June, with two months of gym work to get them a bit stronger and a bit bigger. Our average weight in the 14-man squad is 97kg; so its pretty big, especially with a couple of little fellas in there as well.”
