Soccer league to serve as qualifier

The 10 Super Premier districts in the Fiji Sun/GP Batteries National Football League have more than just the prize money to play for this season.
Fiji Football Association president Rajesh Patel says with only eight teams to feature in the league next season, this year’s competition is also a qualifier for two major tournaments.
“It’s a cut off point for the Vodafone Fiji FACT and Inkk Mobile BOG for the eight team format. So that is something very important and I hope districts are aware they need to form a formidable team.”
Meanwhile, in games on Saturday, Savusavu meets Rewa at 1.30pm at Subrail Park followed by the Labasa-Navua match at 3.30pm.
At Churchill Park, Lautoka plays Tavua at 1pm before Nadroga and Nadi do battle at 3pm.
On Sunday, Savusavu plays Navua at 1.30pm before Labasa and Rewa clash at 3.30pm. These two matches are at Subrail Park.
In the Pillay Garments CVC, Ba and Suva clash at 4pm at Govind Park on Sunday.
