Sixteen teams part of Ucunipotu 7s

Sixteen teams will be fighting for the $5,000 prize money at the Huawei Ucunipotu 7’s which kicks off this morning at Subrail Park in Labasa.

Looking to stamp their claim in the competition is Faith Generation Brothers of Macuata.

Playing previously under the name Can Do Generation, the team has been preparing well for the tournament knowing everyone will be out to get the main prize.

With most of his key players away in Nadi, Coach Ledua Gadekivanualevu – Faith Generation Brothers Coach has faith his team will do the job come game time.

“We remain positive and we are expecting a good result in this Ucunipotu 7’s.”

The Huawei Ucunipotu 7’s is being held for the first time, with teams coming in from Cakaudrove, Bua, Macuata and one from Nadi.

Proceeds from the tournament will go towards the construction of a church at Vunikodi Village in Macuata.
