Shooting aims high for Pacific Games

Shooting Fiji is urging capable shooters to come in numbers to try and make the cut into the national team for the Pacific Games.

Section Manger, Henry Steven says he is glad the country has shown interest in the sport.

However, he adds they need the numbers.

“The host nation Papua New Guinea is going to attempt to introduce small bore inches pistols and air pistol at this game, unfortunately the last two Pacific Games, they didn’t have the six nations participating. So Fiji gave the undertaking to be the sixth nation.”

Henry adds they are also urging women to participate in the sport.

A total of six divisions will take part from single barrel individual, single barrel team, double barrel individual, double barrel team, point score team and point score individual.

There are a total of 18 medals to be won.

The 2015 Pacific Games will be held at the 4th to the 18th of July in Papua New Guinea.
