Webber to make All Blacks 7s return in HK

After more than a year on the sidelines, Joe Webber has been named in the All Blacks Sevens team for the Hong Kong 7s.

Webber has recovered from reactive arthritis and joins Scott Curry and Dylan Collier in the 13-man squad who are also returning from injury breaks.

Coach Clark Laidlaw says the ability to pick from an almost fully fit squad sees a strong team selected for the seventh tournament on the World Series.

Laidlaw says Webber’s return is exciting for the entire team.

Meanwhile, Jona Nareki, Joe Ravouvou and Akuila Rokolisoa have also been named in the squad.

NZ is pooled with Fiji, Australia and Kenya.

Meanwhile, Fiji meets Kenya at 11.37pm next Friday in its opening pool match, they will then play Australia at 5.13pm Saturday before taking on New Zealand at 8.55pm.

The cup quarterfinals start at 2.58pm on Sunday, cup semifinal final begins at 7.41pm and the cup final kicks off at 11pm on Sunday.
