Fiji’s first pool opponent, Wales 7s side hopes to create a major upset when they clash on Saturday in the Hamilton tournament.

Wales coach Richie Pugh says his players need to give their best shot against in the pool games if they are to qualify for the quarter-finals.

“We got Fiji first which will be a big challenge because they have been playing very well and then straight to Australia, they have been performing very well and we finishing off with Argentina. It’s a nasty looking group on paper but that’s where the 7s and World Series is at the moment. There are no easy groups so we are looking forward to the challenge on the first day.”
