The Vanuaso 7s launched its official tournament which will feature 32 teams competing for the $10,000 prize money next month at the Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.

Vanuaso Village Committee Chairman Sivorosi Tora says the event aims to revitalize the sport on the Island of Gau.

Tora adds, 26 teams, have confirmed their participation out of the 32 spots in the tournament.

He says the tournament will feature some prominent local teams with the likes of Wardens, Police, Army, and Tabadamu.

The tournament aims at safeguarding the youth of Fiji.
