Tiliva 7s organizers introduce netball competition

The Tiliva rugby 7s organizers have extended the tournament by introducing netball competition along in the two-day event in April.

This has been confirmed during the launching of the tournament today.

Tournament Spokesperson Lynda Tabuya says they’re aiming at creating the equal opportunity for women in the tournament.

“We believe in having equal opportunity and not being able to bring not just men from around Kadavu and teams around Fiji to play rugby but also to bring our girls to come and play netball at the same time.”

24 spots for rugby teams and 16 spots for netball teams are up for grab.

The tournament will be held at the Tiliva District School ground in Nakasaleka, Kadavu on the 25th and the 26th of April.

The winner for the men’s competition walks away with five- thousand dollars prize money while the winner for the netball competition receives one-thousand five hundred dollars.

Rugby $500/Team

Netball $200/Team
