South Africa confident of a win in Sydney

The South Africa 7s side is confident to bounce back and win the first title of this season in Sydney in the weekend.

Captain Philip Snyman says they need to work on their defence and get the combinations right.

“Especially in defence, I think something that we have got ourselves as team. A very poor performance last weekend so looking forward to Sydney, preparations is going well, the guys are in good spirit and if the young and the senior players can play together it will be a good weekend for us.”

South Africa is pooled with Australia, Argentina and Tonga.

Meanwhile, Fiji is pooled with Samoa, England and Japan at the Sydney 7s which will be played at the Spotless Stadium in the weekend.

They begins its campaign against Japan at 12.34pm this tomorrow, then faces England at 6.02pm and plays Samoa in its final pool match at 10.07pm.

The Cup quarter-final kicks off at 1.16pm on Sunday, semi-final at 5.16pm while the cup final is scheduled for 9.54pm.
