The Fiji Rugby Union Chief Executive John O’Connor says the Fiji Airways men’s 7s players and coaching staff, targeted through personal abuse is a sad reality that they have to overcome in each tournament.
O’Connor says the national sevens team is always in the red zone when they fail to win any tournament in the World Series.
The boys go through a lot of difficulties as most of them are on social media they usually see criticism and some nasty things. We win sometimes, we lose sometimes, we just urge everyone to keep supporting the team.
The Fiji 7s team won the Cape Town 7s yesterday beating USA 29-15 in the final.
The side returns home tomorrow.
