Rugby 7s Legend Waisale Serevi has stepped down as Russia 7s coach.

Serevi took up the Russia 7s coaching job exactly a year ago.

In a Facebook post, the 7s wizard announced the news saying he was grateful and always thanking God for his plans and calling through all the years and can’t thank him enough.

Serevi said he stepped down as the Head Coach on Thursday and is happy to have brought the team for training and play in Fiji and they really had a great time.

He said he had a great time with the Russian 7s players in trying to develop new talent the last couple of months but it’s always difficult to qualify a team for the Olympics in 7 months.

The 51 year old believes the young Russian players have learned a lot of things and they will only get better from here onward.

Serevi also wished the next Russian 7s Head Coach the best.
