May 7, 2019 1:00 pm

Fiji Airways Men’s 7s coach Gareth Baber says they are already feeling the pressure for a top finish with only two tournaments left this year.

Baber says they need to slowly start building up their momentum now to ensure the players are up to the desired fitness level before London.

Baber adds they will not underestimate any team and will take on one game at a time in the London 7s tournament.

“All team they want to finish strong at the end of the season be it for the Olympic qualifications. Top sports in the series itself, obviously for the own momentum and their own progress. So it’s the same with the tournament we go to. We have got to be the best at what we can be. I don’t look too far than other people and other teams. I’ve got a big enough job to ensure that my players are where they need to be to perform.”

Gareth Baber is expected to announce his final London 7s squad next week before they depart for the last leg of the World Sevens Series.

Meanwhile, Fiji is pooled with Samoa, France, and Kenya.

Fiji plays Kenya in its first pool match, they will then take on France, before meeting Samoa in its last pool campaign.
