Fiji Airways 7s Assistant Coach Kane Jury says maintaining their core players throughout the season has been able to help them stay relevant in this year’s tournaments.

Jury says for high-performing teams like Fiji, it is important that they maintain cohesion to match other top teams around the world.

He adds this has been working for Fiji this season despite minor changes.

“But everybody else has stayed relatively the same which I think is really important for a high-performance team. The ability to have cohesion in your team is massively important and this squad hasn’t changed a huge amount over the season too. There have been a few changes but not a huge amount.”

Meanwhile, Fiji is pooled with Kenya, France, and Samoa in the London 7s.

The Fiji 7s side will kick off its campaign against Kenya at 9.36pm next Saturday, they will then play France at 12.42am next Sunday, before ending its pool campaign against Pacific rival Samoa at 3.48am Sunday
