Having two family members to represent their country is not new for Fiji, as this year’s Oktoberfest 7s tournament will see brothers Isoa Tabu and Kaveni Tabu taking part.

Kaveni is the third from the family to join the national side following the footsteps of his elder brother Sevuloni Mocenacagi.

The sevens squad today presented their i-Tatau to the President at the State House.

The Fiji Sevens players have been reminded by the President they are the ‘chosen ones”.

Coach Gareth Baber believes there has been a progression in creating depth in the squad.

“Players have been developing, and show the potential of playing at that level and some others who have been with us and some guys who are brand new as well and have been playing in Sevens tournaments and or have been looking out in fifteens tournaments domestically. To see that talent come through its good to have them come from two or three different pathways.”

The Fiji Airways Fijian 7s team depart for Germany on Sunday, with competition commencing next weekend in Munich, Germany.
