Freezing weather in Vancouver does not worry Fiji 7s

March 9, 2019 5:02 pm

Fiji Airways Men’s 7s coach Gareth Baber says the cold and freezing weather in Vancouver did not hinder their preparation for this weekend’s tournament.

The side is coming in full-force knowing they have a big task to defend the Vancouver title.

Baber says the cold weather will not be a challenge for them as they try and get things right from Las Vegas.

“You know they got other things to worry about than the weather, they got determination to put things right and ensure people back in Fiji just as it means to them playing at this level as I‘ve said I’m disappointed with our performance last week but the weather is not going to stop us to do what we going to do now.”

Fiji plays Kenya in its first pool match at 6.39am tomorrow, they will then take on Canada at 10.08am before meeting Samoa in its last pool match at 2.02pm.

The Cup quarterfinals will start at 6.08am on Monday, Cup semifinals begin at 10.08am and the Cup final will kick off at 1.19pm.
