Fiji Women’s 7s team coach Saiyasi Fuli agrees with FRU Chief Executive John O’Connor that players need to step up.

Fuli took over the coaching role for the Fijiana halfway in the series and helped the team retain the core for the next series.

Despite the poor performance by the Fijiana, the team managed to end the season on a relative high.

Having started with only 1 point when the season began, they managed to end with 21.

“A few months back, you know I took over the job half-way, it was quite tough, even though we scrapped through to stay in the series but there is big work to be done in terms of the offseason so it’s good now that I will be there in the offseason.”

The Fijiana will be defending its title in the 2019 Pacific Games in Samoa next month.
