The Fiji Airways men’s 7s side defeated New Zealand 22-21 in the cup quarter-final of the Vancouver tournament this morning.
Aminiasi Tuimaba and Josua Vakurunabili scored Fiji’s first two tries.

Sam Dickson and Captain Tim Mikkelson scored a try each with successful conversions to put them into the lead 14-12 at the break.

Baber says the players are doing all they can to win the tournament.

Vilimoni Koroi scored New Zealand’s third try in the second spell while Alasio Naduva then scored Fiji’s last try to seal the victory.

Fiji will face South Africa in the first cup semifinal at 10:08am.

USA came from behind to beat England 21-19 in the third quarterfinal.

France defeated Samoa 35-12 in the last Cup quarterfinal.

Cup semifinals begin at 10.08am and the Cup final will kick off at 1.19pm.
