Aminiasi Tuimaba then scored their second try.
Canada fought back, scoring their first try before Waisea Nacuqu replied in the dying seconds of the first half to extend their lead to 21-7.
Coach Gareth Baber reminded the players at the break that they need to win the ball and score first.
“What we need to do in the second half, we haven’t got the ball and just let them run of it. Don’t wait and see them play with it. Get up and take risks and get them this side and once we did that they’ll give up the ball. Three times we get the ball three times we score and that’s exactly what we want and want to do.”
Fiji continued to dominate in the second spell where Tuimaba scored his double to extend their lead to 28-7.
The Fijian gladiators put on a good defensive line where they blocked Canada from scoring tries.
Josua Vakurunabili then made the last say in the last minute to seal the victory.
