Dubai first then Olympics later: Dranisinukula

Fiji 7s Captain Paula Dranisnikula is well aware of what the team is playing for in Dubai from Friday.

Dranisinukula and the captains had their photo shoot today and also spoke about the importance of the 2019/2020 World 7s series.

Dranisinukula said Fiji is not looking ahead of Dubai.

‘Just play Fijian style of rugby and we play for the people back home and the nation and especially for Fiji fans we need to start early on the series win tournaments early in order to be satisfied on the end of the series and then concentrate on the Olympics’.

England captain Phil Burgess said creating the right mindset is key for them.

‘The motto of our team is I imagine mindset makes memories we go out there with the right mindset and you get the enjoyment make the memories,the Olympics at the end of the year is massive I think we got 10 world series so we can build through each event and just looking forward to it at the end of the year’.

The Dubai 7s will kick off tomorrow night.

The Fiji Men’s side meet Japan at 4:02am on Friday. Their second pool match is at 10:04pm against Argentina and France at 4:02am on Saturday.

In the women’s competition the Fijiana will play all their pool games on Friday starting with Australia at 12:12am they will then meet Spain at 6pm before taking on Ireland at 11:12pm.
