Character building will help Fiji 7s performance: Jury

The last few weeks have been about off-field issues for the Fiji Airways 7s side.

This has been confirmed by Assistant Coach Kane Jury.

The team is now in London and Jury says their preparations over the past weeks heading into the last two tournaments were centered on character building.

Jury says this will certainly help their course in London and Paris.

“Actually believe or not a lot of our development for these two legs has been off the field, so it’s been mental skills, so it’s going into the community, going into retirement homes, going into children’s hospital so actually our rugby has stayed the same so our restarts, our defense, nothing has really changed, it’s all about development as better people and they have taken them on and these men have grown a huge amount since then.”

Fiji is pooled with Kenya, France, and Samoa.

The Fiji 7s side will kick off its campaign against Kenya at 9.36pm next Saturday, they will then play France at 12.42am next Sunday, before ending its pool campaign against Pacific rival Samoa at 3.48am Sunday.
