Black Ferns hopes to win in Sydney this weekend

January 30, 2019 12:43 pm

It was Australia’s proud moment in front of a home audience as they thrashed the Black Ferns 31-0 to win last year’s Sydney 7s women’s title.

NZ won every other World Series event that followed, but could not catch fast-starting Australian in the title race in Sydney.

Coach Allan Bunting admitted on their return to Sydney this week that they will try and turn everything around and produce positive results.

“We got a good smack in the bum and that’s what carried us through and set us the commonwealth games and we revisit that often and made us where we are today and we don’t focus on win but focus on key things that will help us with our success and we’ll continue to do that.”

NZ leads Pool A alongside England, France, and PNG.

The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s side is in Pool B with Canada, Russia, and Ireland.
