Fiji Airways men’s 7s coach Gareth Baber praised debutant Isoa Tabu ahead of the Las Vegas tournament in the USA next weekend.

Tabu and robust veteran forward Sevuloni Mocenacagi are the two brothers who have been selected for the US and Canada tournaments.

Baber says Tabu has shown a lot of commitment and his very strong in set plays.

“He has got a great work ethic similar to Sevuloni Mocenacagi. I think that he goes about his work in the ruck and in a different manner to Sevuloni. He likes his tackle, likes to come back to his feet, getting above that ball and being dangerous to opponents in those areas.”

Meanwhile, Fiji Rugby Union still awaits the approval of Alasio Naduva’s visa to travel to the USA for the Las Vegas 7s next weekend.

Fiji kicks off its campaign against Scotland at 11.22am next Saturday, and will then battle Wales at 2.23pm before meeting Australia at 7.52am next Sunday in its last pool match.

The quarterfinals start at 1.46pm on Sunday, semifinal begins at 9.12am on Monday while the final will be played at 12.30pm.

You can watch the entire tournament live on FBC TV.
