Baber impressed with Tuimaba's interpersonal skill

Fiji Airways 7s coach Gareth Baber says Aminiasi Tuimaba has been a role model for his fellow Fijian players in terms of maintaining good behavior.

Baber says Tuimaba has been helping his colleagues to elevate their confidence and cope with the pressure as the Hong Kong tournament nears this weekend.

Baber adds he has been impressed with Tuimaba’s interpersonal skills to communicate with his team members and boost their confidence.

“Well he is learning all the time when he came in with us, there were some tricks in terms of behavior and I don’t mean bad behavior. I mean behaviors that elevate players to be able to cope with the level of game intensity at this stage. He has been working hard on developing them – we’ve brought it to his attention as a coaching staff and he continues to work on them.”

Tuimaba was listed by World Rugby as one of the players to look out for in this weekend’s Hong Kong 7s.

He has been having an impressive debut season and has scored 20 tries so far.

Meanwhile, Fiji is pooled with arch-rivals New Zealand, Austral, and Kenya.

Fiji meets Kenya at 11.37pm on Friday in its opening pool match, they will then play Australia at 5.13pm Saturday before taking on New Zealand at 8.55pm.

The cup quarterfinals start at 2.58pm on Sunday, cup semifinal final begins at 7.41pm and the cup final kicks off at 11pm on Sunday.
