Fiji 7s coach Gareth Baber is hopeful that players injured during the grueling Hong Kong and Singapore 7s tournaments will be ready for the last two legs of the World 7s Series.

Speaking during the arrival this morning, Baber says that he is also proud of the team’s performance, winning the Hong Kong 7s title five years in a row.

He says it was more outstanding that despite two losses at the Singapore 7s and a number of injuries, the side made it to the Cup Final.

“There’s nothing that has completely taken any player out and we’ve got 5 weeks before the next tournament and we have to look at those injuries this week and next week and I’m hopeful to get most of them back.”

Fiji 7s Captain Paula Dranisinukula says that he is also proud of the team despite falling short in Singapore.

Dranisinukula says now their focus will shift to the World Series title with only two tournaments remaining.

Fiji remains in second place of the World Series standings with 142, three points behind USA who is leading with 145 points.

New Zealand is third in the table standing with 130 points followed by South Africa with 121 points.

The next tournament will be held in London on the 25th and the 26th of next month.
