Baber challenge players to perform in HK

Fiji Airways 7s Coach Gareth Baber says challenging the players in all tournament will push them to perform their best and improve their skills.

Making his Hong Kong debut this weekend, Aminiasi Tuimaba will be under close scrutiny from other teams for his speed and agility in the field.

Baber says he wants to challenge Tuimaba to see how well he copes with the challenges as he has been impressive so far throughout this season.

“This is his first Hong Kong so this is another challenge for him, that’s exactly where we want to be, where I keep challenging the players. Because when you’re challenged and you tend to do your utmost best. What we need to do as coach, as players and as supporters as well is supporting all those opportunity and try elevate him to be able to play probably beyond what he think he’s capable of.”

Fiji is pooled with Australia, New Zealand and Kenya.

Fiji meets Kenya at 11.37pm on Friday in its opening pool match, they will then play Australia at 5.13pm Saturday before taking on New Zealand at 8.55pm.

The cup quarterfinals start at 2.58pm on Sunday, cup semifinal final begins at 7.41pm and the cup final kicks off at 11pm on Sunday.
