Australia beats Fijiana in Oceania 7s final

The Fijiana were denied the Oceania 7s title by Olympic Games champion Australia at the ANZ Stadium.

It was a tale of two halves as the Aussies beat the Fijiana 24-12.

Ana Maria Naimasi continued her fine form in the tournament as she registered Fiji’s second try.

Raijeli Daveua could have extended Fiji’s lead but she was denied a try as she stepped into touch.

The Fijiana was leading 12 nil at halftime.

Australia came back firing in the second spell and scored their first try after Ana Maria Naimasi copped a yellow card for a professional foul.

Moments later the Olympic gold medalists levelled the scores 12 all with a converted try.

Another Australian try saw them take the lead for the first time 17-12 before they sealed the deal with another try.
