Aussie's 31-year winless drought continues

April 7, 2019 8:10 am

Australia’s hope of ending their 31-year winless drought in the Hong Kong tournament was severed by Fiji and New Zealand in their pool matches yesterday.

Fiji proved too strong for the Aussie beating them 31-12 yesterday, while New Zealand gave Australia a whopping 40-19 defeat in its first pool match on Friday night.

The Australian side last won the Hong Kong title in 1988 when they defeated New Zealand 13-12.
