Seven new caps in Fiji 7s team

Levani Botia will lead eight new players to defend the Gold Coast Sevens title next weekend.

Botia, Osea Kolinisau, Apisai Domolailai, Samuela Saqiwa, Ilai Tinai, Manueli Lagai, Joji Raga,mate, Ulaiasi Lewavou, Leone Ravuetaki, Alipate Raitini, Samisoni Nasagavesi and Apisalome Waqatabu make up the 12 member team.

Coach Timoci Wainiqolo says he has confidence in the players.

They play rugby. They have played Digicel Cup and they play sevens. These boys have the power, the speed and that’s why we have selected these players. Iam sure they can do it for Fiji.

The team departs for Australia next week.

Fiji’s first game is against Scotland, followed by Tonga and face Australia in the last pool game on Saturday.
