Set pieces were the most improved for the Vodafone Flying Fijians at this year’s Rugby World Cup.
Speaking to World Rugby, national coach John Mckee says it’s an area which needed a lot of work and 18 months of hard work was visible at the tournament.
McKee adds that the challenge now is to get that right down through the ranks in Fiji, right down to schoolboy level.
The national mentor adds that at the next World Cup Cycle they are really going to focus on the scrum clinics, get the information down through the ranks and also get local coaches up to speed on those requirements of the game.
The Fijians finished with one win in three matches at the World Cup but raised many eyebrows with their performance against tier one nations of England, Wales and Australia.
