One of Fiji netball’s key players, Maria Lutua says the Digicel Punjas International Series has played a good role in sharpening the team’s skill level in preparation for major tournaments coming up later in the year.
The veteran goal-shooter says the player’s are learning valuable lessons from taking on Papua New Guinea and Singapore.
These lessons will come in handy for the 2015 Pacific Games as well as the Netball World Championship in Australia.
“It’s a great build-up towards the Pacific Games because we will be facing Papua New Guinea. We will also be facing Singapore in the World Cup in August as well so this sort of competition has been good for the team.”
Fiji won its third successive match in the Series last night, defeating Papua New Guinea Two 62-35 at the Vodafone Arena.
Today, Punjas Fiji takes on PNG at 5pm while Digicel Fiji faces Singapore at 7pm.
