Fiji 7s legend Waisale Serevi has been confirmed as the new head coach for the Russian men’s 7s team.
The Russia Rugby Union confirmed this on Tweeter saying Serevi will be in charge for their push to return to the World Rugby Sevens Series.
The Union also says that Serevi’s service to the team will help them in their bid to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Meanwhile, the maestro has also coached the Fiji 7s side from 2005 to 2007.
Under Serevi’s leadership, the Fiji 7s side won the World Series title and the World Cup in Hong Kong in 2005.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways men’s 7s team is in Pool B with Kenya, Scotland and France in the Dubai 7s which kicks off this weekend.
They open their campaign against France on Friday at 7pm, followed by Scotland at 10pm and Kenya at 4am on Saturday.
