Sevens wizard, Waisale Serevi is among top contenders for the Samoa 7s coaching position.

The former national sevens skipper and coach is believed to have been shortlisted for the Manu Samoa sevens coach, alongside 28 other applicants, including Samoan legends, Brian Lima and Uale Mai.

Serevi was a guest at the Samoa Independence International Sevens tournament in Apia last month, where he expressed his interest in the job.

Samoa has experienced a significant drop in performance in the World Sevens Series, finishing in a disappointing 10th place at the end of the 2014/2015 season.
