Defending super rugby champions the Crusaders have been held to a draw by a South African side for the second time in the space of three weeks.

A penalty goal after the hooter salvaged the Stormers a 19 all draw with the Crusaders in Cape Town this morning.

Meanwhile, the Blues have hauled themselves off the bottom of the Super Rugby’s New Zealand conference with a 23-8 win over the Chiefs at Eden Park in Auckland last night.

The win broke a four-match losing streak for the Blues, and was just their fourth win from 36 matches in New Zealand.

It was also the first time they’d beaten the Chiefs in eight years.

In other super rugby matches, the Waratahs defeated the Reds 40-32 and the Lions defeated Highlanders 38-29.
