The search for Eroni Ravaga-Gaunavou continues at the remote Wairarapa beach in New Zealand.

The former Fiji rep failed to resurface after swimming at Akitio Beach on Monday afternoon and family members back home have already made funeral arrangements for the 22-year-old.

Aerial and ground searches continued yesterday but failed to find Ravana’s body.

Teams of local volunteers were combing the beach for about 10km on each side of Akitio at low tide for any signs.

Search coordinator and Puketoi Rugby Club president Bruce Bowie says the volunteers – including fellow rugby players, supporters and members of the community – were turning out in their dozens to help.
