Few prominent schools in the Suva area are taking advantage of the Shop and Save Athletics weekly competition to help prepare for the upcoming Coca-Cola Games.

Fiji Athletics General Secretary Nemani Tukunia says this weekly competition will help them be competitive at the Fiji finals in April.

“It benefits a lot like I said earlier that’s where they are assessed by their coaches and good for coaches because they will monitor whether their program has been working”.

Meanwhile, the Team Fiji extended squad will have to prove their worth in the weekly competition if they want to compete at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.

The final team will be selected in two weeks’ time.
