Vodafone Fiji Under-20 rugby rep, Filimoni Savou, is enjoying every minute of his time with the national side.

The 18-year-old is the son of former national 7s coach, Joe Savou and has just finished his contract with England Premiership Rugby club, Saracens.

While he awaits word from his agent on his future, Savou is determined to ensure the national side wins the Oceania Rugby Junior Trophy tournament in Suva this weekend to qualify for the World Junior Trophy next year.

““It’s always going to be tough because everyone is going to be fighting for places for the JWT next year. The management have been telling us how important this tournament is and this is our home turf and we’re not going to give it away that easily. So we’re up for it.”

Fiji will take on PNG in its opening game in the Oceania Junior Rugby Trophy at 5pm on Friday at the ANZ Stadium.

The winner of the tournament will join Samoa in qualifying for the Junior World Trophy in Zimbabwe next year.
