Sam Lee impressed with his performance at Fiji International

It was a good day for local golfer, Sam Lee in the Fiji International at the Natadola Bay course yesterday.

Lee is at eighth place, three shots behind the leading pack after he carded two under par 70 in the first round.

Lee shot one eagles, four birdies and four bogey and says he has been impressed with his performance so far.

“Today I started well, I knew it was going to be windy today so I was mentally prepared and having playing at this course a lot of time in the wind I was bit more comfortable.”

After the first round, there’s a four way tie at the top of the leaderboard, New Zealand’s Ben Campbell and Australians Nick Cullen, Jarryd Felton and Andrew Dodt, all shot five under par 67.

Vijay Singh made a poor start in the first round at four over par having shot two birdies and four bogeys, ending in 78th place.

South Africa’s Ernie Els carded an even par 72 round and is in 19th place.
