With the recent spate of injuries to schools’ rugby players, Suva Kaji Rugby Association secretary Willie Daurewa says safety for the kaji’s is a must.
“That is what we emphasize to players and coaches that safety is paramount in our weekly games, winning and all that comes later but what we emphasize first is safety."
Daurewa adds they are overcoming hurdles in selecting the Suva teams FMF Chow Kaji Rugby tournament next month.
“Well over the past course of competition and add to that was the wet weather condition in the capital which resulted our weekly games to three to four weeks compared to the previous years we used to play in fine weather however this year we were coupled to rainy weather”
Suva Kaji Rugby will end on Saturday with the semi finals and finals later in the afternoon.
In the U14 semis, Veiuto Primary take on John Wesley while St. Agnes will take on Gospel Primary.
