Fiji 7s Coach Ben Ryan will not be travelling with the Under 18 squad to the youth Olympics in China due to medical reasons.

This was confirmed by the Fiji Rugby Union.

Ryan was advised by Dr Emosi Taloga against travelling long distances and that he would need to rest in order to fully recover.

Ryan though disappointed has advised the team to make the most of the opportunity.

Team Manager, Sale Sorovaki says that it is unfortunate for the team but preparations for the Youth Olympics will continue while a replacement is being sought.

The second Summer Youth Olympic games will be from 16 to 28 August in Nanjing, China.
