Ryan pleased with players game time

July 2, 2015 6:34 pm

“Vodafone Fiji 7s coach, Ben Ryan is pleased to see several national reps receive some game time in the Skipper Cup competition during the one-month break from the abbreviated code.”

A host of players have been in featuring in the competition over the past couple of rounds, such as Isake Katonibau, Savenaca Rawaca, Josaia Wini and Kitione Taliga.

Ryan says the players will continue to be available for their provincial teams, so long as it does not clash with their national 7s duties.

“We want them to play; we want them to support the provinces, because the provinces support me. Whenever there is an opportunity for them to play rugby, they get released to play and they go with our blessing back into the provinces.”

Ryan will announce a 12-member squad today to compete in the Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea next week.
