Vodafone Fiji 7s coach Ben Ryan has named a 20-member squad to prepare for the Dubai and Port Elizabeth 7s next month.

Ryan has retained nine players from the Gold Coast 7s including skipper Osea Kolinisau, Isake Katonibau and Semi Kunatani.

Also included is Coral Coast 7s player of the tournament, Ilisoni Tavaiqia of Police.

Recalled into the squad is New Zealand-based winger Jona Tuitoga.

Ryan was happy with the talent on display at the Coral Coast 7s that played a hand in his selection for the team.

The Englishman says there one area that is worrying him is the amount of game time the players have been exposed to over the past weeks.

“But what I don’t want them to have is fatigue from having played a lot of tournaments. Some of them played Great 8, Central Coast, one or two went to Singapore 7s and Coral Coast. Thats all between Gold and Dubai whereas you look at NZ and Samoa, they wouldn’t have played a single game of sevens. We just have to be wary that we don’t over-fatigue them and if I get the next week or so right then we should be fine.”

The squad will march into camp at Uprising Resort in Deuba on Wednesday.
