Ryan confident

September 23, 2014 6:53 pm

Vodafone Fiji 7s coach Ben Ryan is not one to count his chickens early, but the Englishman is heading into the Gold Coast 7s next month with an air of confidence.

Ryan says the 12-member selected for the opening leg of the IRB World Sevens series is one of the strongest squads he has ever fielded.

“They are the first 12 players, who if I was to give you one word that I hope they typify after the Gold Coast 7s is uncompromising. We’ve got a hard-edge to this team. We’ve got players that are leaders and want to go forward. I know we are going to have some hard battles against teams that more resourced and better prepared.”
