WRPC to boost U-20 players ahead of Junior World Cup

Swire Shipping Fiji Warriors coach Senirusi Seruvakula believes the World Rugby Pacific Challenge will boost the seven under-20 players’ confidence ahead of the 2019 Junior Under- 20 World Cup.

Seruvakula says the youngsters are on track and are gelling in well with the experienced players in the squad.

“The team is comprised of 10 of the under-20 players and most of these guys are preparing for this year so playing in the Warriors will give them more exposures and game time.”

The seven under-20 players are part of the 28-member extended squad for the Warriors preparing for the WRPC.

16 of the 28 players are uncapped for the Warriors and the remaining eight are from the Fiji Airways Drua.

Meanwhile, Fiji will host Tonga A in its opening match of the Rugby Pacific Challenge at 5pm tomorrow at the ANZ Stadium.

Meanwhile, Junior Japan meets Samoa earlier at 2.30pm tomorrow at the same venue.
