World Cup ticket on the line for Fijiana XV

November 22, 2019 12:41 pm

Today’s encounter between the Fijiana 15s and Samoa Manu Sina is vital for both teams.

A ticket to the Women’s 2021 Rugby World Cup is at stake and Fijiana captain Sereima Leweniqila knows how important that is.

The Fijiana will head into today’s clash with a lot of confidence despite their 53 nil loss to the New Zealand Development side earlier this week.

Fijiana captain Sereima Leweniqila says they learnt the hard way but they know what is at stake in their next remaining games.

“The coaches and management reminded the girls every day after the last game how important it is for us and the future of women’s rugby in Fiji”.

The two teams will play today at Churchill park in Lautoka at 4pm today.

The Oceania tournament serves as a 2021 Rugby World Cup Qualifiers where the winner wins a direct qualification and the runners up a qualification spot in the repechage tournament.

The non-qualified teams in the Oceania Rugby Women’s Championship are Fiji, Samoa, Papua New Guinea and Tonga.
