‘What happens in other games is out of our control’.

These are the words of Flying Fijians fullback Kini Murimurivalu ahead of their clash with Georgia.

Murimurivalu says they need to beat Georgia, and they are concentrating on what they can do because they can’t control what happens in other games.

The former Queen Victoria School student says there’s is a lot at stake in the game on Thursday and, looking at other results, that may have a bearing on the final pool placing’s, but it’s not only the playoffs; finishing third in the pool is also important because it gives Fiji automatic qualification for the next World Cup.

When asked about dealing with the loss to Uruguay, Murimurivalu says they were really disappointed and they could have won the first game against Australia but it’s the World Cup, so they can’t keep thinking about the last two games.

He says the team had a day off on Friday and could not stop thinking about the result, and thinking that for the past four years they have been working so hard before getting to this point.

He says for him personally it’s hard but they have to move forward and focus on their next game.

Fiji will play Georgia at 5:15pm on Thursday.

Meanwhile, today Samoa takes on Scotland at 10:15pm.
