Vunakece hopes PMs XIII game inspires girls to play Rugby League

Fiji Bulikula second-row Eloise Vunakece is ready for battle against Australia at the ANZ Stadium in Suva this afternoon.

The younger sibling of Bati prop, Eloni Vunakece describes today’s game as a step forward for women who play rugby league in Fiji.

The 29-year-old says the new girls in the team are ready for the challenge that the Aussies will give.

“I think it’s gonna be a good hit-out for us, especially coming into the World Cup into the next few years. We came off a really good win, this is gonna be good for us to give us a good platform on what we need to work towards and where we need to go as we’re playing a stronger side. I think we have every chance of winning as we have a very strong side.”

The Fiji Bulikula side will take on Australian counterpart at 5.30pm while the Fiji Prime Minister’s 13 side will face the Australian Prime Minister’s 13 at 7.30pm.
