Skipper Cup competition is becoming more intense: O'Connor

May 16, 2019 12:22 pm

Naitasiri and Suva are the only two unbeaten teams in the Skipper Cup competition so-far this season, while Rewa remains the only winless team going into round four this weekend.

As the tournament heads towards the half-way mark, Fiji Rugby boss John O’Connor says games are expected to become more intense.

After its win over Nadi last week, Naitasiri now sits at the top of the Skipper Cup table with 14 points while Suva is on second place with 13 points.

“I think the intensity we can see teams playing high-level rugby and very competitive rugby, the games are won or lost by close margins it’s interesting to see Northland and Tailevu contesting they have one each win, surprisingly we have Nadroga and Namosi with one win.”

Meanwhile, in this weekend’s matches, Suva will play Northland, Namosi takes on Rewa, Nadroga hosts Naitasiri and Nadi will play Tailevu.
