Chiefs Rugby captain Brodie Retallick is confident debutant Orbyn Leger will give his best shot against the Highlanders in their opening Super Rugby clash tonight.

21-year-old midfielder will be at fly-half in place of injured All Black Damian McKenzie.

Retallick says the newbie has been responding well in training.

“Orbyn Leger has been great, he has been playing really well, makes good decision and will fit in well. He knows how to run a ship so it’s going to be a good game.”

Meanwhile, the Highlanders take on the Chiefs at 6.35pm while Brumbies play the Rebels at 8.45pm.
