“It feels good to train with them. They are so big, I wasn’t used to it. People that big like Tim Agaba was here and he was a massive guy. I was looking up to them but after few meetings with them you realized that they are just normal guys full of joy and I started getting used to them and since then everything has been going well for me.”

Experienced forward Chris Dry has been dropped from the squad.

South Africa is pooled with England, Japan and Chile.

They open its campaign against Japan 1.12pm on Saturday.

Meanwhile, The Fiji 7s side kicks off its campaign against Scotland at 11.22am on Saturday, meets Wales at 2.23pm before playing Australia at 7.52am on Sunday in its last pool match.

The Cup quarters begin at 1.46pm on Sunday, semis at 9.12am next Monday and the Cup final will be played at 12.30pm.
